Music Discovery

As you can see, I like music. A lot.

That being said, I am always looking for new artists to listen to.

Just recently, I have found THE PERFECT site for discovering new artist.

No, it’s not iHeart, nor Pandora, or even Google.

It’s \ !

This is my go-to website when I’m feeling like I’m just listening to the same songs over and over. I have found artists like The Academy Is… and The Ready Set through this site. It is really cool.

You just type in the artist, and within seconds you have several different artists swirling around your selected artist. The closer the name of the artist is to your selected artist, the probability of fans listening to both artists is higher. For example, if All Time Low is typed into Music-Map, 5 Seconds Of Summer will appear close by. The same works vice versa. But there will be differences. All Time Low’s might feature Falling In Reverse or Every Avenue, while 5 Seconds of Summer’s might feature The Vamps or Shawn Mendes. 5SOS and ATL are similar, but are like different artists in their own way (like every band is.)

Also, if you see an artist you might like, you can click on the artist to find the similar artists of the artist of interest. Another example: if I find Keane on the The Script map, and would like to find similar artists to Keane, I can click on the artist name and look at the music map for Keane.

One last cool thing: It is not just for music! If you click on the question mark, and click on the first link, it takes you directly to the Global Network of Discovery. You can find book maps, movie maps, Artist maps, and Electronic maps. This is probably the best thing to happen to internet discovery!

Well, that just wraps up my excitement (I hope). If there’s a website you’ve found to be the one of the best websites ever, don’t hesitate to tell me about it! I’m always up for a new discovery!
